Whale and Dolphin Watching

Galle, located on the southwestern coast of Sri Lanka, is an excellent base for whale and dolphin watching tours. The waters off the coast of Galle are part of the Indian Ocean and provide an ideal habitat for a variety of marine life, including blue whales, sperm whales, and several species of dolphins.

   • Season: The best time for whale watching in Galle is from November to April when the sea conditions are calm and the whales are migrating through the region.

2. Dolphin Watching:

   • Species: Several species of dolphins can be seen, including spinner dolphins, bottlenose dolphins, and common dolphins. Spinner dolphins are particularly known for their acrobatic displays.
   • Experience: Dolphins are often spotted in large pods, and their playful behavior and synchronized swimming are a delight to watch.
